Work in Progress

This work in progress is taking a while. But it's coming together. I had done this before in a smaller version but I didn't like it. So now, this is going to be a 16x12" pastel painting, and it is forming a bit better.

This is a new painting for one of my exhibitions next week.  I have two upcoming shows. The Button Tree Cafe Studley Art Society exhibition If you are local to Redditch or Studley... or Droitwich... Please check out one of these exhibitions.  I appreciate you all 🙂

The Last Silent Diva

My latest painting... is a pastel painting. The size is about 12x8" on heavyweight paper. I titled it "The Last Silent Diva". This is a painting of the silent film actress Anita Page.  She lived to a ripe age of 98! According to Wikipedia, and I realize that not everything you read on there is correct...   At that age, she was of course the last surviving Silent Film actress in 2008.  She was only 15 when she started acting.

Anita Page was known as the most beautiful face in Hollywood at the time. I certainly agree a bit, but I have my favorites. Thank you for dropping by! Cindy Williams

A Woman of the World

A Woman of the World

Pola Negri was another silent film actress and lived to the ripe-old age of 90.  You can find out about her in this Wiki site.  And there is also a Pola Negri appreciation site.

Here is my version of Pola Negri:

Lupe Vélez starred in a film "The Girl from Mexico" and then went on to star in several other films, called the Spitfire series. You can read more about her on the Wikipedia website. I have a small exhibit starting today (as it is 5 am) ... I started painting this at 9pm last night... made it to about 12, fell asleep for a couple of hours, woke up and started painting again.  I wanted a new painting for my exhibit.  It is only exhibiting for the Public Library in Droitwich but it will be on show for 2 weeks (Through Saturday, 2 April).  So if you are in the area (Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, UK), please drop by and check it out, the library is really nice too. Thank you for dropping by, I appreciate all my readers! Cindy Williams
