Sept 1, 2016 Day 1- 30 Day Painting Challenge

Today is the first day of September and the first day of a 30 Day painting challenge. I have decided to do 30 days of painting.... not necessarily 30 paintings. Today I have started a bee and flower painting. I took a photo of this friendly bee last year in our garden.  We had lovely flowers, unfortunately I didn't plant any this year. This little (or shall I say BIG) bee was happy and let me take its photo with no threat to me or the bee. I am starting this in watercolor, however I do not claim to be a watercolor artist, so if it doesn't turn out, you know why. I am contemplating doing an underpainting in watercolor and then adding my pastels on top, to make it "pop". Thank you for stopping by I appreciate all my readers! Cindy

Artist in Residence

Today turned out pretty well. I actually was excited and not a bit of fear. I'm sure some of you remember when I was so afraid last time when I did my very first demo.  That wasn't long ago, only in November.

What a fabulous afternoon!

Hi everyone! This afternoon was FABULOUS! I was able to finish work and I had a "mosey" over to Whitehall Galleries (in Stratford-upon-Avon).  I was afraid I would be late, but fortunately, I made it in time. For What? (you probably are wondering) Artist Jen Allen is featured this weekend. Her artist opening at the gallery was today.  I was fortunate to be able to talk to her for about 2 minutes. You can find her on Facebook by clicking here.

So ... that was pretty cool ... to me 🙂 AFTERWARDS... I walked further down Sheep Street in Stratford. There... you can find... a lovely little tea room 🙂

The Fourteas Tea Room

This place is a really happy place! All of the employees are dressed in 1940s dress.  The guys and the girls, both.  And they have all the old posters on the walls.  And when you order a pot of tea and an scone, you get a little timer too. And you have to wait for the glass sand timer to finish, and it is about a 5 minute timer. Because the tea is steeping. After the timer finishes, then I took the tea leaves out of the pot, because it will make it really strong if you don't.

The owner of the Fourteas and her husband also works there. She told me it is best if you book ahead, because when I went, it was PACKED. BUT somehow, there was an empty seat. 😀
